It is used in industrial and professional applications. In the food industry, it is utilized for cooling and freezing food products. Due to its solubility, it is also the product of choice for generating foam in various beverages. Other applications include its use as a propellant gas in aerosols and as a stabilizing gas in mixtures. It is also employed in biocidal applications, as a calibration gas, in chemical compositions, in combustion and melting processes, and as a fire-extinguishing gas.
