They have a robust structure designed to minimize distortion during tilting and pouring operations. They are designed with a higher freeboard to provide extra space for solid charge materials; as the charge melts, the cover (optional) can be easily closed, significantly reducing heat loss. The raised crucible (optional) provides a suitable fulcrum point for slag and dross removal and acts as a safety barrier to protect workers from excessive heat when the cover is open. Thanks to the use of thick-walled tubing in Steel Frame Furnaces, the current-carrying cross-sectional area is larger compared to furnaces with similar-sized tubing, resulting in lower resistance. This allows more energy to be transferred to the molten bath. All Steel Frame Furnaces are designed for structural strength with the help of specially developed computer-aided software.
