The Future of Manufacturing Technologies Comes Together at MAKTEK Eurasia 2026
MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, one of Eurasia’s leading gatherings for the manufacturing technologies and machine tools industry, has opened its doors at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center. Bringing together brands and representatives from 32 countries, including Türkiye, the exhibition offers a broad spectrum of technologies ranging from next-generation manufacturing solutions and artificial intelligence to robotics, automation and digital manufacturing. Featuring products and technologies being showcased in Türkiye for the first time, MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 will welcome visitors from September 28 to October 3.
Organised by Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc. in cooperation with the Machine Tools Industrialists and Businesspeople Association (TİAD), with the support of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade and the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 – the 9th International Machine Tools, Metal and Sheet Metal Processing Machinery, Holders and Cutting Tools, Quality Control and Measurement Systems, CAD/CAM and PLM Software, and Manufacturing Technologies Fair – is bringing the industry’s global players together in Istanbul.
The opening ceremony brought together leading representatives from Türkiye’s industrial and manufacturing sectors. Attendees included Mr Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM); Mr Ender Yılmaz, Chairman of the Assembly of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO); Mr Adnan Dalgakıran, Chairman of the High Advisory Council of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED); Mr Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of the Machine Tools Industrialists and Businesspeople Association (TİAD); Mr Osman Fatih İğrek, Chairman of the Board of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB); Mr İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager at Tüyap Fairs Production Inc. and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Fair Organisers Association (TFYD), as well as other prominent representatives of the industrial sector.
During the opening ceremony, particular emphasis was placed on the important role MAKTEK Eurasia plays in enhancing the international visibility and export capacity of Türkiye’s manufacturing industry, facilitating access to new markets, and fostering new business connections.
MAKTEK Eurasia Highlighted by Industry Leaders
İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager at Tüyap Fairs Production Inc. and Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Fair Organisers Association (TFYD), stated that the scale reached by the exhibition demonstrates the industry’s strong interest in technology and investment, and said:
“MAKTEK Eurasia continues to grow into a highly important platform and meeting point. This year, 156 international companies are participating directly, further strengthening the exhibition’s international profile. This is because the event provides access not only to the Turkish market but also to the wider Eurasian region. We are creating an important platform both for selling machinery and introducing new technologies in Türkiye, and for reaching markets across Eurasia.
Held across 14 halls and covering an area of 120,000 m², the exhibition showcases machinery and technologies used in a wide range of industries. Technologies required by numerous sectors, from defence and automotive to food, packaging, plastics and agriculture, are represented here, and we are bringing our visitors together with next-generation technologies that will shape the future of manufacturing. A broad technology ecosystem, ranging from digital manufacturing, robotics and automation to AI-powered solutions and interactive experience areas, comes together at MAKTEK Eurasia. This is one of the key elements demonstrating the significance of the exhibition. Our aim is for the strong commercial connections established here to develop into long-term partnerships and new international business opportunities.”
Osman Fatih İğrek, Chairman of the Board of the Machinery Manufacturers Association (MİB), stated that MAKTEK Eurasia is one of the key meeting points for the machinery industry, highlighting its importance in keeping abreast of new technologies, shaping investment decisions and developing commercial partnerships. İğrek said:
“Türkiye’s machinery industry continues to strengthen its position in global markets by complementing its manufacturing capabilities with technological expertise. Alongside mechanical manufacturing capabilities, software, automation, digitalisation, the use of data and artificial intelligence are becoming integral components of machinery. This transformation is also creating new investment and cooperation opportunities for our industry.
We hope that MAKTEK Eurasia, which brings together domestic and international machinery manufacturers, technology and software companies, distributors, dealers and solution partners, will serve as an important meeting point where new technologies are discovered, investments are evaluated and new commercial connections are established.”
Murat Akyüz, Chairman of the Board of TİAD, highlighted the strategic importance of MAKTEK Eurasia for the industry in his speech and said:
“MAKTEK Eurasia is no longer merely an important meeting point for TİAD and Türkiye; it has become one of the major meeting points of Eurasia and the world, as well as a global brand of ours. MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, which we are opening today, goes far beyond being an exhibition where machinery is displayed. It is a strategic showcase through which we demonstrate to the world the technological maturity achieved by Turkish engineering, our manufacturing strength and our ambition to compete globally. At a time when the balance of global industry is being reshaped, the world of manufacturing is also undergoing a major transformation. Adnan Dalgakıran, Chairman of the High Advisory Council of the Turkish Machinery Federation (MAKFED),stated that the pace of technological transformation around the world is continuing to accelerate and stressed that manufacturers need to focus not only on their production capabilities, but also on their ability to anticipate change, differentiate themselves, collaborate and organise effectively. Emphasising that simply having access to high-tech machinery will no longer be sufficient to provide a competitive advantage in the new era, Dalgakıran said:
“The pace of change around the world is accelerating. In the face of this change, our most important asset is our ability to change and to anticipate the future. Even if we are not among those driving the change, we must be among those who adapt to it most rapidly. Producing alone is no longer enough; we need to think about how we can make a difference. You may purchase the most advanced machinery available, but when everyone has the same machinery three years later, you need to consider how you will differentiate yourself. To achieve this, we must strengthen our organisational and collaborative capabilities and build a new ecosystem that brings together qualified human resources and experts from different disciplines. MAKTEK Eurasia is also an important platform where new technologies and manufacturing tools meet their users. The machinery industry is not solely about producing machinery; the technological products we develop here will also enhance the competitiveness of Türkiye’s other industries.”
Ender Yılmaz, Chairman of the Assembly of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO), also drew attention to the importance of qualified human resources, alongside access to finance and labour costs, in maintaining the competitiveness of industry, and said:
“No matter how extensively we integrate robots, technology and smart systems into production, they cannot be sufficient unless we have strong capital and the right workforce. One of our most important inputs is human capital. If we cannot strengthen our human capital and train the right people, our investments will remain incomplete. At this point, we no longer need only new investment; we also need to safeguard our existing businesses. We must preserve our human resources and our production dynamism.”
Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), highlighted in his opening remarks the transformation taking place in global trade, Türkiye’s competitiveness in the machinery sector and the sector’s potential for high value-added production, stating that the machinery industry holds a strategic position in Türkiye’s exports. Noting that the share of services is also steadily increasing alongside the growth in global merchandise trade, Karavelioğlu said:
“The machinery sector continues to be one of Türkiye’s most competitive fields. High- and medium-high-technology products account for a significant share of our industry. Our machinery sector is increasingly incorporating a stronger service component through product design, engineering, installation, operation and after-sales services. Developing technology has a cost, but the benefits it delivers are substantial. Of the 6,600 products exported from Türkiye, 972 are related to the machinery sector. We therefore need to make stronger use of our potential in this field. Machinery and engineering-intensive production are among the foremost areas that will enhance Türkiye’s competitiveness.”
30% increase in international visitor interest
The number of participating companies and representatives has exceeded 1,300, while the number of direct international exhibitors has reached 156.
MAKTEK Eurasia continues to serve as an international meeting point this year, with direct participation from different regions of the world. Exhibitors are attending from countries including Germany, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, China, France, South Korea, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Italy and Taiwan.
According to online ticket data, the number of international visitors has increased by 30% compared with the 2024 edition.
More than 200 international buyers from 18 countries at MAKTEK Eurasia
As part of the Hosted Buyer Programme organised within the scope of MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, more than 200 international buyers and representatives of purchasing delegations from 18 countries are being hosted at the exhibition.
Delegations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Algeria, Morocco, Georgia, Iraq, Iran, Montenegro, Kosovo, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Russia, Serbia, Tunisia and Jordan will have the opportunity throughout the exhibition to closely examine new technologies and manufacturing solutions and to establish direct contact with exhibiting companies.
In addition to guided exhibition tours organised as part of the programme, a Networking Meetup to be held on 29 September from 14:00 to 16:00 at the Hosted Buyer Lounge in Hall 3 will bring exhibiting companies together with international buyers.
New products and technologies make their debut at MAKTEK Eurasia
MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 brings together technologies from different areas of the manufacturing industry under one roof, ranging from machine tools and metal and sheet metal processing machinery to cutting tools, quality control and measurement systems, CAD/CAM software, robotics and automation solutions.
Among the 1,208 machines, 132 robots and thousands of pieces of equipment registered for the exhibition are numerous next-generation solutions being introduced in Türkiye for the first time.
Machine tools, 5-axis machining centres, CNC lathes and machining centres, laser cutting and welding technologies, quality control and measurement systems, cutting tools and tool holders, CAD/CAM and manufacturing software, robotics and automation systems, and AI-powered technologies are among the exhibition’s prominent product groups.
Exhibitors’ technological capabilities reach international markets
MAKTEK Eurasia 2026 is bringing the technological and manufacturing capabilities of its exhibitors to the global manufacturing community through its collaboration with MTD CNC, with the aim of further strengthening the exhibition’s international visibility.
As part of the collaboration, a dedicated three-day production project will professionally capture participating companies’ technologies, products and manufacturing solutions in video format. The resulting content will be distributed through MTD CNC’s international digital broadcasting channels to manufacturing professionals in different regions of the world.
The initiative aims to ensure that the international visibility generated during the exhibition continues after the event and to support participating companies in expanding their access to global markets.
The Future of Manufacturing Is Experienced through MAKTEKVERSE
As part of the exhibition, the MAKTEKVERSE Experience Area, created in Hall 12A, brings visitors together with the future of manufacturing technologies. The area offers visitors the opportunity to experience the factories of the future through VR headsets and simulation tools, while interactive demonstrations featuring humanoid robots and smart exhibition technologies are also presented.
At the MAKTEKVERSE Robot Show area, robot dance performances, as well as demonstrations by the Unitree humanoid robot and robot dog, offer visitors an interactive technology experience.
The MAKTEKVERSE Stage focuses not only on the present of the industry but also on its future. Key topics on the manufacturing world’s agenda — ranging from CNC machine tool technologies and agentic artificial intelligence to manufacturing and productivity strategies, as well as physical AI, XR and digital twin technologies — are discussed by expert speakers.
MAKTEK Eurasia Will Continue Until October 3
MAKTEK Eurasia 2026, one of the leading exhibitions for manufacturing technologies in the Eurasian region, will be open to visitors at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center from 28 September to 3 October 2026.
In addition to transforming the commercial contacts established during the exhibition into new business partnerships, MAKTEK Eurasia is intended to position itself as a long-term platform for trade, technology and collaboration that supports participating companies in accessing international markets.
